PROJECTS

1.FARM FIELD SCHOOL
We are working on a model farm in Nausori where we will train smallholder farmers from the Central Division on good farming practice. Currently we are working with POETCOM the certification body for Organic products in the Pacific. POETCOM stands for Pacific Organic and Ethical Trade commission. Its the only pacific certification body apart from the others in the Oceania.

The Project that we are working on is at its preliminary stage where we are building and creating the model farm where these selected young farmers will be trained with a range of skill set in farming. This training's will be free of charge and our targeted groups are young youths in rural and peri-urban areas currently farming and are committed to expand their knowledge and skills.

The course objectives range from soil management, seedling nursery, organic principles, crop planning, market access, pricing,  financial services, bookkeeping and more. Even trainees will be trained on using bullocks to assist in tilling and ploughing the land. Even-though this training might be available at other institution, we try to train youths who do not qualify or afford to enroll at this institutions due to some reasons. This training is to transform farmers from traditional or subsistence farming to be commercial so as to earn them a living and a secured future.

2.ORGANIC GINGER
The seedling bed of 1 chain (20x20) is under preparation and planting will commence soon. This bed will provide for our planting material which will be expected to plant 2 acres of organic ginger.

3. AGRICULTURAL DEVELOPMENT
Working with the Landowners of Naitasiri in the village of Nakini, operating as Toranasau Development Limited developing a agricultural subdivision on a 140 acre native land. The lots are subdivided into 5 acre lots with a 99yrs lease. The lots will be available for sale around the end of 2017.

4. HEIFER BULL PASTURE
Development of a breeding farm for heifer bulls specifically the Gelbvieh Breed. Gelbvieh are a unique breed in the beef industry as they combine strong maternal traits with outstanding growth rates and excellent muscle development. Because of their quiet temperament and early maturing they are able to begin laying down fat at an early age. The result is an animal that reaches market weight younger, with optimum finish and tender, tasty meat.
